Hello!
This is a blog about some of the things in my life that I've come to enjoy. I keep, so to speak, a record of all the things that I do in my spare time. I am a cat addict, nature fanatic, vintage lover, girl gamer, and love to research and write about interesting facts plus more! I hope you enjoy viewing my blog.
Five Ways to Keep Your Cat Happy
Cats often have a smile when you look at them from the side. I know mine do. It seems as though that smile may be enhanced from time to time, perhaps when I’m cuddling with them while they purr away. Here are some of the ways I’ve found that can make my cat happy and you can too:
Pet the cat. A lot. Personally, there is nothing that I like more than cuddling with my cat and winning the ultimate prize of its purring, which in turn makes me feel relaxed. As I repetitively pet it, it lovingly looks up at me with a sweet look on its face, as its eyes are squinting with contentment. See what I did there? We both got something out of that deal.
Give the cat mushy food once or twice a day. Although mushy food is often viewed more as the junk food of the cat world, believe it or not, it is actually more healthier than dry food. It is however, more convenient for the busy person to simply fill the dry food bowls in the morning and go about their day. Mushy food is more rewarding, however, as it can make your cat happy and healthy. So don’t be afraid to spoil your cat with delicious and healthful mushy food!
Give the cat fresh water at room temperature. I have found my cats drinking out of the dripping faucet in the bathroom so many times! This is obvious that they are looking for fresh water. When I check their bowls after this, there is always something that fell in their bowl, like a food particle or something else that was dropped from kitchen happenings. They always leave the faucet and come straight to their fresh water after I refill their bowl, except when the water is too cold. I always try the water at room temperature and that seems to do the trick. They are then quenched of their thirst and are quite content.
Play with the cat. It is a typical stereotype that cats are lazy. In all honesty, though, cats can be really playful, as most cat owners would know. My cat, Tasha, indeed is a very playful kitty. She always pats the floor, or if it’s there, she will pat her shoestring, communicating that she wants to play. When we accept the invite to play, she leaps and flips around, loving every minute of it, as the string is swaying back and forth. Toby, on the other hand, tends to be more on the lazy side of things, as he likes to try to catch the red dot, but never involves any kind of jumping. He likes to get more ground action. The point is that most cats still like to play, however they do it. Play with that cat of yours! Let the string do its thing.
Clean out the litter box. Every day. It’s that job that we all hate doing. It is the not so sweet part of owning our sweet little cats. Not every cat may do this, but my cat lets me know when his litter box is full! He runs around the house, meowing at the top of his lungs, and gets all frizzed out. When I first got my cat, I wondered what troubled him so much. Why was he so upset? I gave him more food and I changed his water. He was still upset. I proceeded to check the litter box, and as soon as after I cleaned it, he walked downstairs and used it. After that, he was calm. What can I say? He had to go. Always make sure that you keep your cat’s special area nice and clean!
If you keep your cat smiling, you will be smiling too!

Today is a beautiful day...
Today is a beautiful day where I live. For the first time this year, we have the windows open in the house! The cats are loving that part. I thought I'd share some more cat pictures today for all you cat lovers out there:
Well, I'm off to enjoy this beautiful day! I certainly wouldn't want to miss it. :)
I'd like to introduce you to the family cat, Tasha! She is well known for being quiet, playful, cute, and smaller than average. She is part somali, and the rest is unknown.
Toby likes to find sun spots for warmth.
Tasha looks like the size of a kitten, but she is actually three years old! She's definitely the runt of the litter.
